So last night we had some neighbors over for dinner. They have three kids and Bradley LOVES to play with them. Rachel (the children's mother) has been taking Bradley off of my hands a little bit here and there and it has been a life-saver!! So I invited them over for dinner last night as a "Thank You" for taking Bradley. We had wrapped meatloaf, asparagus and mashed potatoes. It was quite delicious and the picky eaters even ate some! Anyway, they brought cookies for dessert which were really good. Bradley kept sneaking in the kitchen and scraping off the icing and eating it....This coming from the child who FREAKED OUT when we gave him his "smash cake" on his first birthday!!! And now he willingly scrapes icing off of a cookie and eats it? (Not eating the cookie, just the icing) Dave tells Bradley that it's time for bed and he is done eating cookies. I'm not exactly sure when he did this but Dave went to his room to get Bradley ready for bed and there is a gallon of milk in his room. AGAIN! This is the 4th or 5th time he has done this!! Almost consecutively!! So Dave brings the gallon of milk down to the fridge, cap missing (because Bradley usually leaves it in the fridge), and THERE IS NO CAP!!! WHERE IS THE CAP?!?!?! IT'S ALWAYS IN THE FRIDGE!!! So Dave looks for it and asks Bradley where it is and Bradley is all, "I don't know, maybe in the fridge?" Oh the panic. They can't find the cap so Dave just puts the gallon in the fridge and hopes that we can find it eventually because how gross is it leave a gallon of milk in the fridge without a cap!?!?
All of that to say, I went in Bradley's room this morning to get him ready for the day and clean up from where the 4 category 5 hurricanes came roaring through his room last night. (Complete with water from the toilet, by the way) I'm bending over to grab a handful of toys when WHAT DO I SEE HERE UNDER THE BED?!??! What is that? Is that a plate under his bed?.....YES IT IS!! A PLATE OF COOKIES!!! About 3 missing from the last time I saw it, but yes a plate of cookies. So I ask him, "Bradley why is there a plate of cookies under your bed?" To which he replies, "I got hungry." How can you argue with that?! As I'm reaching down to grab the plate of cookies, what do I see right next to the plate?... THE CAP FOR THE MILK!! At first I'm completely thrilled that I found it and then I realize...this was probably here all night and a 29 year old father and his 3 year old son can't find a cap that is right next to the cookies under the son's bed!! If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was training to be Santa Claus!!
